CareerController Privacy Policy

Candidate control comes first

Creating or testing a CareerController account does not by itself make your profile public, contact an employer, submit an application, send a notification, release your resume or share your phone or email details. Those actions require separate product controls and admitted provider flows.

Information we collect

• Account details such as your name, email address, authentication status, session state and account preferences.
• Career profile information you choose to provide, including role history, skills, education, location preferences, job preferences, resumes, CV references, avatar or profile image references, saved jobs, job alerts and candidate action history.
• Messages, job invites, interview request summaries and support interactions where those features are enabled for your account or internal test program.
• Approximate location or selected place information used for registration, profile setup, job search filters and job alerts. We do not require continuous background location tracking for the current CareerController app.
• Technical information such as app version, device type, operating system, network error state, diagnostics, logs and security events needed to keep the app reliable and safe.

How we use information

• To create and secure your CareerController account, manage login sessions and help you recover access.
• To provide candidate-facing features such as profile setup, job search, saved jobs, job alerts, matched job previews, messages, invite handling, resume or CV previews and data-rights requests.
• To improve app reliability, investigate errors, prevent abuse, protect accounts and verify that internal testing flows work as expected.
• To honour privacy, notification, unsubscribe, suppression, visibility, export and deletion choices where those features are available.

Sharing and disclosure

• CareerController does not sell your personal information.
• We only share information with service providers or platform operators where needed to run, secure, support or test the service, and only under appropriate controls.
• Employer, advertiser, agency, ATS, notification provider, SMS, email, push, profile release and contact-release effects are separate controlled features. They are not triggered merely by creating an account, saving a job or creating a no-send internal test job alert.
• We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate security, fraud or misuse.

Location, notifications and communications

• Location search is used to help find and filter jobs, set profile location preferences and configure job alerts. Server-side lookup services may be used where available; Google API keys are not placed in the mobile app.
• Job alerts, email, SMS, push or in-app notifications require separate provider readiness and user preference controls. Internal no-send testing does not mean live notifications have been sent.
• You can manage communication preferences, unsubscribe where available, or contact us if you need help with a privacy or notification setting.

Security and retention

• We use access controls, transport security, audit logs and operational safeguards to protect account and app data.
• We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, audit, backup, suppression or dispute-resolution reasons.
• Internal testing evidence is handled to avoid exposing raw passwords, tokens, OTPs, private file paths, provider payloads, raw phone numbers or raw email addresses in logs and screenshots where practical.

Your choices and rights

• You may request access, correction, export, deletion or anonymisation of personal information associated with your CareerController account, subject to legal, security and retention obligations.
• You may request account deletion or close-account handling through the app where available, or by contacting us using the contact details below.
• If production account deletion is not yet available for your account type, we will treat your request as a privacy support request and explain the available process.

Children

• CareerController is intended for job seekers and career users old enough to use employment and career services. It is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

• We may update this policy as CareerController features, providers, legal requirements or store requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page.

If you are using an internal testing release, include the test email address, app version and a brief description of the privacy request. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, private keys or sensitive documents by email unless we specifically request them through a secure process.
